Simon & Koenraad &

Unlikely Friends

News • Miracles Moment #5

Tuesday , Nov 19, 2013, Simon Gronowski arrives with a surprise at Station Liège-Guillemins , in Liège, Belgium. He shows the German newspaper Die Welt, the Literary supplement of last Saturday, featuring at the front page the article ‘Feinde wie wir’ (Enemies like us) reporting on the recently published story ‘Enfin libérés’ (Finally liberated) by the Belgians Simon Gronowski and Koenraad Tinel. Both were children during World War II: one a Jew whose family was murdered, the other the son of a committed Nazi. Decades later, just a year ago, from their first encounter, when they discover how close their lives were, their unlikely friendship started, and the mission to send an emphatic message to Europe.
