In the first moment of our first encounter for this interview at Simon’s home in Brussels, April 21, 2011, Simon Gronowski indicates me (on a 1910 military map showing the railway line) the route of his deportation direction Auschwitz the night of April 19-20, 1943 with Transport XX from Mechelen (Belgium) via Boortmeerbeek, Leuven, Tirlemont (Flemish : Tienen), St Trond (St Truiden) , and his escape that night in the area of Cuttecoven (Kuttekoven), Berlingen and Looz (Borgloon).
